What are they?

• Dermal fillers and lip fillers are made of cross-linked hyaluronic acid (HA).

• Hyaluronic acid is naturally made in our body and holds on to water to keep our skin hydrated and plump.

• Filler HA is cross-linked so it stays around in the body for longer (from 6 months to 2 years).

• There are many different types of brand on the market, all varying in quality and consistency - hence it is important to go to an experienced practitioner for the right product.

• Note: Other types of dermal filler do exist, but the vast majority of “filler” is referring to HA filler - always inform your practitioner if you have had filler previously.

 

What do they do?

• Fillers are used to fill in areas that have lost volume over time and give a better shape to affected areas. Can be used to lift tissues, fill areas or mask lines.

• Give a more plump and youthful appearance.

• As we age, we loose muscle mass, fat pad density, skin becomes more lax and loose. As a results we get noticeable hollowed areas or tissues travel southward!

• Fillers can be administered in most areas of the face and lips, but care is needed in specific areas.

How is it administered?

What is the downtime/recovery?

• Some swelling over the next few days - depending on the treated area.

• Depending on the area and technique - may be some redness, swelling and bruising for a few days.

Results

• Filler results are instant - great for an instant confidence boost and correcting any concerns clients have.

• After administration, assessment and further filler or enhancements can be made there and then.

• Filler can be dissolved if required, but remember it is easier to add more, than take away. Natural looking is best!
